An extension is an advanced, two-legged stunt where the bases drive the flyer completely overhead until their arms are fully locked out. It represents maximum height for a standard two-legged stunt and requires flawless synchronization and stability from the entire group.
Sponge is a low, transitional position where the flyer's feet are held at the bases' waist level with their knees bent. It acts as the spring-loaded starting point to launch into higher stunts, as well as a safe absorbing position to catch a flyer coming down.
A prep is a foundational, two-legged cheerleading stunt where the flyer is lifted and held securely at the bases' chest-to-chin level. It serves as the ultimate building block for stunt groups to master timing, balance, and the progression toward advanced overhead stunts.
